Kitchen
In the early years, two cooks were employed by the Brown’s. At onetime they also had four to five maids, a butler, a head gardener, and a head foreman for the farm.

Violet loved green. After her parents death she repainted several rooms, including the kitchen, in her favorite color. In 1953 Violet modernized the kitchen and took the doors off the upper kitchen cabinets leaving the contents open to view.
