Dining Room
The Dining Room is one of the most beautiful rooms in the home. Centered over the table is a signed Tiffany hammered brass gasolier. According to Violet, Mr. Tiffany helped to hang the fixture.
The silver tea set, which was a wedding gift to the Browns, was made by the Rogers Smith of New Haven, Connecticut company. The same company made the silver bud vases and epergne on the table in the southeast corner, which also were wedding gifts.
Hand-painted grapes grace the panels over the doors to the veranda. From these glass doors, one has a wonderful view of the rose garden.
A Vasoline glass punchbowl with accompany cups sits on the small buffet in the southwest corner.
Tiffany leaded-glass doors enclose the hutch where many of the Browns' dishes are displayed.
The fireplace in this room is surrounded by green tile, matching the tile in the back of the hutch.
The table is always attractive, set with some of the Brown's lovely dishes.
