Chicken House

The Mansion was located on a working farm of around 500 acres. The farm included various pastures, crop fields, fruit trees, and a vineyard. Sheep, hogs, and chickens were some of the livestock raised in the farm.

A portion of the Brown acreage was on the east side of the Verdigris River, while the home, the barns, and the other outbuildings were on the west side of the River. One of these outbuildings was the chicken house, the only structure remaining of the original farm buildings. It lies just south of the Servants’ Quarters.
